Baku: The detention period of Saleh Samedov, former chairman of the Imishli District Council of Elders, has been extended. A motion submitted by the investigative body was reviewed at the Sabail District Court, resulting in a court decision to extend the preventive detention measure for Saleh Samedov by three months.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Saleh Samedov faces charges under Article 179.3.2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The charges were initiated following his arrest by the State Security Service. Samedov was dismissed from his position as chairman of the Imishli District Council of Elders on May 13.
