Baku: The detention period of Nijat Huseynov, an employee of the State Tourism Agency Apparatus, has been extended in connection with a criminal case initiated by the State Security Service (SSS), APA reports. Today, the Sabail District Court made a decision based on the investigator’s motion and the submission of the prosecutor overseeing the preliminary investigation process.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the court decision has resulted in the extension of Nijat Huseynov’s detention for an additional 2 months. Huseynov, who is an employee of the State Tourism Agency Apparatus, was detained as a suspect by the SSS on March 4 of this year. He has been charged under Article 308, which pertains to abuse of official powers, of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
