Khankendi: Representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan, along with Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, visited the Khankendi Cultural Center after its extensive renovation.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Elchin Yusubov, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the city of Khankendi and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, highlighted the ongoing large-scale reconstruction efforts in Khankendi. Yusubov noted that the first residents have begun returning to the city and the village of Karkijahan, with the current population of Khankendi standing at 28,000. He emphasized that the diplomatic representatives would receive detailed updates on the redevelopment and construction activities in the area.
Hikmet Hajiyev, addressing the delegates, recalled the terrorist act in New York City against the United States 25 years ago and drew parallels to Azerbaijan's own experiences with terrorism, particularly in the early 1990s. He underscored Azerbaijan's early commitment to the international alliance against terrorism and highlighted the nation's continued efforts in this area. Hajiyev also expressed appreciation for the support of friendly countries and organizations in Azerbaijan's demining initiatives in the liberated territories.
The visit concluded with an overview of the Khankendi Cultural Center, providing the delegates with a comprehensive understanding of the ongoing and future developments in the region.
