Baku: The Director for Public Prosecutions of the Republic of Kenya, Renson Mulele Ingonga, is leading a delegation on an official visit to Azerbaijan, as confirmed by the Prosecutor General’s Office to APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, on September 20, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev met with the delegation headed by Renson Mulele Ingonga. During their meeting, Aliyev highlighted the robust cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kenya, attributing the strong political ties to the efforts of the heads of state from both countries. He emphasized that these relations are developing positively, particularly between the prosecutorial authorities.

The Prosecutor General also spoke about Azerbaijan’s effective cooperation with international and regional organizations and with prosecutorial and law enforcement authorities from other countries. He discussed the importance of intensifying legal dialogue and expanding cooperation through experience exchange. Aliyev expressed satisfaction with his participation in the 23rd Conference of Prosecutors General of the Commonwealth of Nations member states held in June, and he thanked the Kenyan authorities for their hospitality during the Azerbaijani delegation’s visit to Nairobi and Mombasa.

In response, Renson Mulele Ingonga recalled his previous visits to Azerbaijan and praised the organization of the 29th Annual Conference of the International Association of Prosecutors. He mentioned the plenary session focused on mobilizing law enforcement agencies to combat climate change within the framework of COP29. Ingonga conveyed that the Kenyan institution places great importance on its relationship with the Azerbaijan Prosecutor’s Office and expressed confidence in strengthening their cooperation.

The discussions also covered the expansion of legal cooperation, the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in Baku in 2024, and the exchange of knowledge and experience in combating crime. The delegation’s official visit to Azerbaijan is ongoing.
