Zagatala: A driver has died in a serious road accident in Azerbaijan's Zagatala district. APA's northwestern bureau reports that the accident occurred at around 2:00 a.m. on a section of the Gakh-Zagatala highway near the entrance to the village of Yeni Suvagil. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, a VAZ-21099 car with registration plate 62-BM-725, driven by Afgan Afandi Mulkumov, lost control and crashed into a roadside tree. The vehicle caught fire following the collision. Mulkumov died at the scene from severe injuries sustained in the crash and the subsequent fire. The blaze was extinguished by firefighters from the Zagatala District State Fire Protection Unit. The driver's body was taken to the Zagatala district department of the Forensic Medical Examination and Pathological Anatomy Association for examination. The relevant authorities are investigating the incident.
