Earthquake Strikes Azerbaijan’s Samukh District, No Reports of Major Damage


SAMUKH: An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.0 has been recorded in Azerbaijan’s Samukh district. The seismic activity, detected by the Republican Seismological Service Center of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, had its epicenter at a depth of 13 kilometers.

According to Trend News Agency, the earthquake occurred without immediate reports of major damage or injuries in the region. Residents in Samukh and nearby areas felt the tremors, although there have been no significant disruptions reported in infrastructure or daily activities.

Seismic events are not uncommon in Azerbaijan, which lies in a seismically active region. The authorities have urged residents to remain calm while staying informed through official channels for any updates. Emergency services are on standby, with no immediate need for evacuation or special measures reported at this time.
