Baku: The next meeting of the Economic Council was held, as reported by the Cabinet of Ministers to APA. The agenda of the meeting, chaired by the Chairman of the Economic Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Prime Minister Ali Asadov, included several critical issues. Key among them was the “Action Plan for the Development of the Agrarian Insurance System.” This plan was prepared by a dedicated Working Group to enhance the agrarian insurance system and to establish a new concept.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting also covered the current situation and policy directions in macroeconomic and financial stability. Discussions included the main results of the monetary policy for 2024 and examined key indicators and development trends in the banking and insurance sectors. Additionally, the Council reviewed the 2024 Report on monitoring and evaluation results for the “Socio-economic Development Strategy for 2022-2026.” The agenda also included the Action Plan of the “I State Program on the Great Return to the Liberated Territories” along with other pertinent issues.

Reports were presented by Shahmar Movsumov, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Taleh Kazimov, Chairman of the Central Bank, and Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication. The Minister of Agriculture, Majnun Mammadov, who was present at the meeting, provided insights on the agricultural insurance system.

The members of the Economic Council engaged in comprehensive discussions on the items presented. Concluding the meeting, decisions were made based on the proposals of the Council members, and relevant instructions were issued to the responsible entities.
