Washington: The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), under the Department of Energy, has updated its forecast for daily global demand for liquid hydrocarbons for 2025-2026. This revision was reported by APA-Economics, citing EIA’s monthly report.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the average global daily demand for liquid hydrocarbons for the current year is expected to be 103.99 million barrels. This figure is 0.18 million barrels higher than EIA’s previously issued forecast. The forecast for 2026 has also been adjusted, with the expected demand now at 105.11 million barrels, slightly up from the previous estimate of 105.09 million barrels.

It is noted that in 2024, the average global daily demand for liquid hydrocarbons was 102.91 million barrels, marking an increase of 0.77 million barrels compared to 2023, when the demand was 102.14 million barrels. Historical data shows that the average global daily demand in 2022 was 99.15 million barrels, 97.56 million barrels in 2021, 91.81 million barr
els in 2020, and 101.23 million barrels in 2019.
