Abu dhabi: Eight members of the OPEC+ coalition, comprising Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, UAE, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Oman, convened virtually on 7 September 2025 to evaluate the current global oil market conditions.

According to Trend News Agency, the group decided to implement an additional production adjustment of 137,000 barrels per day, supplementing the voluntary cuts of 1.65 million barrels per day that were announced in April 2023. This adjustment is set to take effect in October 2025, with the possibility of gradually restoring volumes based on market conditions.

The coalition members reiterated their commitment to the Declaration of Cooperation, highlighting their flexibility to pause or reverse previous voluntary cuts, including a 2.2 million barrels per day reduction announced in November 2023. They also assured full compensation for any overproduction beginning January 2024.

The group plans to continue its practice of monthly reviews, with the next meeting scheduled for 5 October 2025.
