‘Azerbaijan’s approach towards resolving of all remaining difficulties, problems, challenges in the region is a rather holistic one,’ said Elchin Amirbayov, Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on special assignments, during a debate at the Hudson Institute.
‘Our Turkish friends also realize that improvement of relations between Armenia and Trkiye is very much linked to the progress, which could be achieved between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Because the very reason why the borders were closed was the fact of the Armenian aggression and occupation. We are on the same page with our Turkish friends. Because, they also realize that this issue of territorial claims in this region of South Caucasus needs to be treated immediately and any steps, which might complicate already very fragile atmosphere around the peace process, should be avoided,’ Amirbayov noted.
