Baku: In January-September of this year, Azerbaijan produced 20,502.9 kWh of electricity, reflecting a 0.1% increase compared to the same period last year.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, citing the State Statistical Committee, this slight growth marks a steady trend in the country’s electricity production.

During the reporting period, 19,817.2 kWh of the electricity produced was designated for commercial output, a figure that has remained unchanged from the previous year. The majority of this electricity, 16,919.5 kWh, was generated by thermal power plants, although this represents a 0.4% decrease from the January-June indicator of 2024.

It is noteworthy that the remainder of Azerbaijan’s electricity production during the first half of the current year was sourced from hydroelectric power stations and other alternative and renewable energy sources.
