Ganja: A joint statement by the Prosecutor General’s Office, Interior Ministry, and State Security Service has clarified the circumstances surrounding the death of 18-year-old Elgun Ibrahimov in Ganja. Ibrahimov succumbed to injuries sustained from a fall, as confirmed by an ongoing investigation.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the investigation, led by the Ganja City Prosecutor’s Office, has been thorough, examining multiple hypotheses. These include the possibilities of suicide, accidental fall, or injuries resulting from an assault. However, the evidence collected so far, including witness testimonies, surveillance footage, and various forensic reports, has ruled out any involvement of third parties or acts of violence. Ibrahimov’s death has been attributed solely to the injuries from his fall.

The investigation revealed that on May 12, Ibrahimov settled his debts after selling his mobile phone. He then met acquaintances at a local tea house, where they consumed alcohol. After parting ways with them near City Hospital No. 1, he bought cigarettes and went alone to an unused dormitory building. There, he smoked on an unguarded balcony before falling. Discovered later by a guard, he was hospitalized but succumbed to his injuries on May 13.

Authorities emphasized the importance of disseminating verified information and urged media and the public to avoid spreading unconfirmed details that could disrupt the investigation. They assured that further updates on the investigation’s findings will be shared with the public as they become available.
