“In Madrid, we said “yes” only to Sweden and Finland’s invitation to join NATO,” said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in his statement before the Friday prayer, APA’s correspondent in Istanbul reports.

He noted that while some have already accepted this as consent to membership, there is still a way to go in this process.

According to him, all the conditions of Turkiye for these two countries to join NATO were envisaged in the tripartite memorandum signed in Madrid.
