EU Ambassador for Eastern Partnership informed of mine problem in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories

Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan’s Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) Vugar Suleymanov has met with EU Ambassador for the Eastern Partnership Christina Johannesson and Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to the country Tobias Lorentzson.

 

During the meeting, Suleymanov highlighted the scale of the mine problem, which produced severe consequences for the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, as well as the works done to restore of the liberated territories and ensure the safe return of the former refugees and IDPs, which have been identified as one of the strategic objectives among the “Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socio-economic Development”.

 

During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on issues of cooperation in the field of strengthening demining capacity, neutralization of explosives, risk assessment, topography-geodesy and other areas.
