Baku: Azerbaijan's participation in the Covenant of Mayors initiative is an indicator of its commitment to its international obligations related to climate change, said Marijana Kujundžic, the Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Azerbaijan, at an event dedicated to the Covenant of Mayors initiative, APA reports. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the EU Ambassador emphasized that Azerbaijan, like many other nations, is facing the impacts of climate change. She noted a significant decrease in the level of the Caspian Sea as a notable concern. The Ambassador stressed the importance of collaborative efforts to reduce carbon emissions across various cities in Azerbaijan. She highlighted that Azerbaijan's accession to the Covenant of Mayors initiative demonstrates its dedication to meeting its international climate obligations.
