Brussels: Cristina Lobillo Borrero, Director for Energy Security and International Relations at the European Commission, has emphasized the strategic partnership between the European Union and Azerbaijan in the energy sector. This announcement comes as the EU unveils its new connectivity strategy for Central Asia, which extends beyond energy to include transport and other sectors as well.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Borrero highlighted that the partnership with Azerbaijan is crucial for the EU's efforts to diversify its energy sources, particularly in reducing dependence on Russian gas imports. The collaboration focuses on renewable energy, energy interconnectors, and the broader energy transition. These elements are integral to the EU's goal of ensuring energy security and supporting the shift towards sustainable energy solutions.
