EU Observers Increase Activity on Armenia-Azerbaijan Border

YEREVAN: European Union observers stationed near the Azerbaijan-Armenia border have intensified their monitoring activities, with recent sightings reported in the region.

According to Trend News Agency, the EU mission’s presence was noted near the village of Farakhli, with heightened activity observed towards Zangilan. Footage obtained by the agency shows that around 1:00 PM, three Toyota vehicles marked with EU insignia arrived at an Armenian military post located just a few kilometers from the Azerbaijan border. The mission included EU observers accompanied by an unarmed Armenian soldier, who were seen surveying Azerbaijani territories from the vantage point.

This latest development follows reports earlier this month of the EU mission conducting intelligence gathering operations from the Goris district, specifically monitoring areas in the direction of the former “Lachin corridor.” The increased presence and activities of the EU observers highlight ongoing tensions and the critical role of international
monitoring in the region.
