Brussels: Europe imported a record volume of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in January, the TASS agency reported, citing its calculations based on data from Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE), APA reports. According to the results of January, LNG flows from European terminals to the EU gas transmission system amounted to approximately 12.7 billion cubic meters. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this figure is 22% higher compared to January 2025. The significant increase in LNG imports highlights Europe's growing reliance on LNG to meet its energy needs.
