European Canoe Association Opens Its First Office in Azerbaijan

Baku: The Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation has solidified a multi-faceted partnership with Paddle Europe (PEU), marking a significant step in fostering international canoeing collaborations. Azerbaijan's strategic geographical position and potential for hosting development-oriented events played a pivotal role in the formation of this partnership, which aims to capitalize on the existing opportunities for cooperation between the two entities.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the agreement outlines a framework for mutual cooperation focused on supporting organizations in Eastern Europe and developing countries. The partnership will work towards the development of canoeing, organizing international competitions, and conducting training camps at the Sarsang reservoir. Additionally, future infrastructure projects are being considered to expand training opportunities in the region, leveraging Azerbaijan's strategic location to strengthen ties between European and Asian canoeing communities.

The collaboration will encompass joint training sessions, development programs for coaches and leaders, participation in international events, and exploration of mutually beneficial areas of cooperation. To ensure effective coordination and transparency in decision-making, a Joint Steering Group will be established with equal representation from both parties. This initiative is expected to enhance collaboration and foster growth in the canoeing community across the regions involved.
