Executive Director Calls for Global Support for Women Leaders

Baku: Christine Kandine, the Executive Director of the Indigenous Women Empowerment Network, emphasized the need for global support for women leaders during a session at WUF13 titled 'The Rights of Indigenous Peoples: Adequate Housing for All Indigenous Peoples in Their Diversity'.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Kandine advocated for creating a system that ensures the participation of international partners and stakeholders. She highlighted the importance of supporting women and women leaders within this framework, noting that several initiatives are underway to address urgent needs and key issues.

Kandine underscored the necessity of collaborating with governments and involving local institutions and initiatives. She mentioned the critical role of informal civil society organizations at the grassroots level. Her organization works closely with local communities, including women, persons with disabilities, and various social groups, aiming to enhance local leadership and inclusivity in their activities.
