Executive Director Highlights Cooperation with International Sikh Federation on Ethnic Minority Rights

Baku: The Baku Initiative Group has been actively collaborating with the International Sikh Federation over the past five months, focusing on the protection of ethnic minority rights. This cooperation has led to the successful organization of two international conferences addressing issues such as transnational repression, discrimination against ethnic minorities in India, and the broader context of human rights. Abbas Abbasov, Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group, highlighted these efforts during his speech at an international conference titled 'June 1984, Amritsar Events: India's Transnational Repression Against Ethnic Minorities in the Context of Genocide,' APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Abbasov emphasized the importance of this partnership by noting the joint preparation and publication of a report that was presented in Geneva at the 61st session of the UN Human Rights Council. Abbasov expressed confidence in the collaboration with the International Sikh Federation, stating that it would significantly contribute to the protection of ethnic minority rights and human rights overall.
