BAKU — Azerbaijani police have successfully confiscated a large cache of weapons and ammunition in a week-long operation across several districts, according to Azeri-Press News Agency. The operation, which took place from August 31 to September 6, resulted in the seizure of 11 automatic rifles, one machine gun, four pistols, six rifles, 11 grenades, one grenade launcher, three detonators, four bayonets, 200 ammunition magazines, 9,786 rounds of various calibers in Khankandi, and additional armaments in nearby regions.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that the continuous efforts to identify and neutralize remnants of war and potential hazards are crucial for regional security. The seized weapons are part of an ongoing initiative to cleanse the region of weapons and explosives, ensuring the safety of its inhabitants and maintaining peace in post-conflict areas.
