Baku: A fake statement on behalf of Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, regarding Russian-Azerbaijani relations has been spread on several social network accounts, APA reports, citing the Media Development Agency. It was stated that this statement, which was prepared by imitating the image of the official website of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and contains fabricated claims, is an example of gross information manipulation aimed at misleading public opinion.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Media Development Agency emphasized the importance of relying on official sources for accurate information. “We call on the public to believe only in the information provided by official sources, and remind you that you can obtain information expressing the official position of the state from official sources, as well as from the country’s news agencies and other professional media entities,” the statement reads.

The statement further urged Azerbaijani citizens, journalists, and public activists to maintain vigilance and principledness in the face of increasing campaigns based on fake and false information. The spread of such misinformation poses a significant challenge, and the agency reiterated the need for public awareness and caution.
