Ferrari’s Leclerc Aims for First Baku Victory After Securing Pole Position

BAKU—Charles Leclerc of Ferrari has set his sights on his first victory at the Baku circuit during this year’s Azerbaijan Formula 1 Grand Prix.

According to Trend News Agency, Leclerc, who has consistently started from pole position at Baku for the past four years, remains optimistic about clinching his first win on this track. Despite a challenging start with a crash during the first practice session, Leclerc’s confidence remains unshaken due to the car’s strong performance. “This is one of my favorite circuits. I thought this weekend might be tough after the crash in the first practice session, but it didn’t shake my confidence because I knew we had good pace,” Leclerc explained.

In the subsequent practice session, Ferrari faced a setback when a new car component failed, costing them crucial preparation time. However, Leclerc managed a comeback with a commendable lap in his final run. He highlighted the performance of the car and the collective strategy for the race. “The car felt amazing, everything went smoothly, and I’m really happy to secure pole. With Ferrari starting from first and third, we’re hoping to work together tomorrow and take the win,” he stated.

Leclerc’s pursuit of victory in Baku is significant as he seeks to transform his qualifying successes into a grand prix win, especially with the final race day slated for September 15.
