Fire Extinguished in Garayazi State Nature Reserve in Azerbaijan


Baku: A fire broke out in the Soyuqbulaq village section of the Garayazi State Nature Reserve, located in Azerbaijan’s Aghstafa district. The Ministry of Emergency Situations’ Press Service reported that the State Fire Protection Service forces were immediately dispatched to the scene.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the timely intervention of the firefighting team prevented the fire from spreading further. The blaze was contained and extinguished in a short period, protecting the remaining forest area. Despite the swift action, approximately 10 hectares of forest area were burned.



The fire reportedly started near the forest and gradually encroached upon the forested zone. The coordinated efforts of the State Fire Protection Service, under the Ministry of Emergency Situations, ensured the containment of the fire, safeguarding the rest of the nature reserve from damage.



The “112” hotline had received the initial report of the incident, prompting an immediate response from firefighting forces. While efforts to extinguish the fire have been successful, authorities will continue to monitor the area to prevent any resurgence.
