Fire in the mountainous area in Sheki extinguished-UPDATED

The fire that broke out in a mountainous area with complex terrain in Sheki has been extinguished, APA’s northern bureau reports.

The fire broke out at noon yesterday, was extinguished in the morning today, in a mountainous area with a high and complex relief, 8-9 km from Kish village of the region.

Currently, complete cooling and exploration works are being carried out in the area.

According to the preliminary report, the fire covered an area of 15 hectares. Bushes, hazel, dry grass, small trees, dried trees, and stumps were burned in the area.

Notably, in order to put out the fire, the appropriate equipment of the Sheki District State Fire Protection Unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), 60 personnel, 30 personnel of the Civil Defense Forces, two helicopters of the aviation unit, as well as 100 personnel of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources were involved to the area.
