Tashkent: On August 23, First Lady of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, accompanied by her daughter Leyla Aliyeva, visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Tashkent. Joining them were the First Lady of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ziroatkhon Mirziyoyeva and her daughters Saida and Shakhnoza Mirziyoyeva.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Islamic Civilization Center was established by the decision of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The center spans more than 10 hectares and is constructed in the architectural style reminiscent of the ancient monuments of Samarkand, featuring a striking 65-meter-high dome.

The center is home to several departments, including one dedicated to maintaining the national register of rare manuscripts. It also includes a manuscript fund, a library, and archives. The center displays artifacts and works from various historical periods, presenting the creative heritage of ancestors through modern technologies and digital devices.

The library within the center boasts 100,000 manuscripts and over one million books. The museum's exposition is organized into halls such as 'Pre-Islamic Civilizations,' 'First Renaissance Period,' 'Second Renaissance Period,' 'Uzbekistan in the 20th Century,' 'New Uzbekistan - Foundation of the Third Renaissance,' and 'Holy Quran.'

The 'Holy Quran' hall, centrally located in the exposition, safeguards the 'Quran of Uthman,' a spiritual treasure for the Muslim world. This hall also features handwritten Quran copies from different eras and translations into Uzbek.

The project involved hundreds of scientists, experts, religious, and public figures. The center collaborates with international organizations like UNESCO and ICESCO, further emphasizing its global significance.
