Tashkent: First Lady of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, accompanied by her daughter Leyla Aliyeva, visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Tashkent alongside First Lady of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ziroatkhon Mirziyoyeva and her daughters Saida and Shakhnoza Mirziyoyeva.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Islamic Civilization Center was established by a decision from the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The center spans over 10 hectares and was constructed in the architectural style reminiscent of the ancient monuments found in Samarkand, featuring a 65-meter-high dome.

The center includes several departments, such as one tasked with maintaining the national register of rare manuscripts, a manuscript fund, a library, and archives. It showcases artifacts and works spanning various historical periods, utilizing modern technologies and digital devices to present the creative heritage of ancestors.

Within the center, a library boasts a collection of 100,000 manuscripts and more than one million books. The museum exhibits are organized into several halls, titled 'Pre-Islamic Civilizations,' 'First Renaissance Period,' 'Second Renaissance Period,' 'Uzbekistan in the 20th Century,' 'New Uzbekistan - Foundation of the Third Renaissance,' and 'Holy Quran.'

The 'Holy Quran' hall is central to the exposition, preserving the 'Quran of Uthman,' a spiritual treasure of the Muslim world. The hall also features handwritten copies of the Quran from various periods and translations in Uzbek.

The project involved contributions from hundreds of scientists, experts, and religious and public figures. The center collaborates with numerous international organizations, including UNESCO and ICESCO.
