First Lady of Bulgaria Visits Azerbaijan’s Historical Shamakhi.


Shamakhi: Desislava Radeva, the wife of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, who arrived in Azerbaijan within the framework of COP-29, visited Shamakhi, APA’s Shirvan bureau reports. During her visit, Radeva explored the historical and cultural landmarks of the region, highlighting the strengthening ties between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the First Lady visited the Shamakhi “Juma” mosque, where she received detailed information about Azerbaijan’s multicultural environment and religious values. Her visit underscored the importance of intercultural dialogue and the preservation of religious heritage in fostering mutual understanding between nations.

In addition to the mosque, Desislava Radeva was introduced to modern agricultural and tourism enterprises within the district. She received insights into the projects focused on Shamakhi’s history, cultural life, socio-economic development, and tourism potential, demonstrating Azerbaijan’s commitment to sustainable develop
ment and international cooperation.

As a symbolic gesture of solidarity and environmental awareness, Radeva planted a tree during her visit. This act was part of the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World” initiative, emphasizing the global importance of environmental conservation and the role of international partnerships in achieving a sustainable future.
