Five children and two adults killed in fire in Bashkiria — Emergencies Ministry

Seven people, including five children, died in a fire in the Sterlitamaksky district of Bashkiria, the republic’s Emergency Situations Ministry reported on Friday on its Vkontakte page, according to TASS.

 

“Tonight it was reported that in Sterlitamaksky district in the village of Matveyevka on Molodezhnaya Street there was a fire in a residential two-apartment brick house. At the time of the arrival of firefighters there was an open burning of one of the apartments of the house across the entire area. At 05:19 (Moscow time) the fire was localized on an area of 56 square meters. Unfortunately, in the course of extinguishing the fire seven people were found dead, including two adults, a man and a woman, and five children: boys,” the report said.

 

According to the Emergencies Ministry, 62 people and 25 units of equipment were involved in the elimination of the fire. The cause of the fire is being probed into, the experts are now on the scene.

 

The Prosecutor General’s Office has started investigation into the incident. According to its information, several people were injured in the fire and were taken to a medical facility. As the regional Health Ministry told TASS, two of the injured were taken to a hospital with their state of health being specified.
