Baku: On May 17, an official ceremony was held to raise the official flag of the United Nations and the National Flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan at the Baku Olympic Stadium, marking the venue for the 13th session of the United Nations World Urban Forum (WUF13).

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the ceremony was attended by Anar Guliyev, the National Coordinator for WUF13 and Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture. Anacl¡udia Rossbach, the Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), was also present at the event.

The flag-raising ceremony represents the official commencement of the session and underscores the international significance of the event.
