Baku: A public court hearing continued on August 15 at the Baku Military Court concerning criminal cases against Armenian citizens, including Arayik Harutyunyan and others, accused of committing crimes against peace and humanity, war crimes, and terrorism. The trial, presided over by Judge Zeynal Agayev, with judges Jamal Ramazanov and Anar Rzayev, provided translators and defense lawyers for each accused.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the hearing was attended by the accused, their defense attorneys, victims, legal representatives, and state prosecutors. Judge Zeynal Aghayev introduced the judicial panel and explained the rights of the victims participating for the first time.

Victims, including Lala Ismayilova and Bikakhanim Guliyeva, testified about forced displacement and the loss of family members due to Armenian military actions. Ismayilova recounted being expelled from the Zangilan district, while Guliyeva described the destruction of her home and the murder of her brother.

Idris Mirzaliyev and Khavar Shukurova shared experiences of being forcibly displaced from Zangilan, while Malayka Huseynova detailed fleeing her village and losing her brother during battles. Victims like Ramal Mammadov and Nazila Huseynova provided accounts of injuries sustained during Armenian attacks.

Rovshan Abdullayev recounted being captured and tortured by Armenian forces for 35 months, highlighting the severe human rights violations faced by Azerbaijani captives. Other victims, including Samad Ahmadov and Anar Mammadov, shared stories of injuries from landmines and battles.

The trial will continue on August 18, with fifteen defendants of Armenian origin facing accusations of crimes committed during the aggressive war waged by Armenia against Azerbaijan. The proceedings reveal a pattern of military aggression, with support from Armenian state officials and armed forces, violating both domestic and international legal norms.
