In 2022, foreign drivers who entered Azerbaijan on a ‘Green Card” made 57 insurance cases in the country. This was reported by the Compulsory Insurance Bureau. The report says that this is up by 21.3% from 2021. Last year, an insurance payment worth AZN140.000 was paid for road which is up by 40% from the previous year. In the reviewed period, the insurance payment for each accident amounted to 2,455 manats, which is up by 15.3% from a year earlier. Remind that insurance cases in Azerbaijan occurred mainly with the participation of citizens of Russia and Turkey. Last year, 36 road accidents were committed by citizens of Russia, 11 by Turkey, 9 by Ukraine and 1 by another country. It has to be kept in mind that AZN 103.000 of insurance payments were paid for road traffic accidents committed by citizens of Russia, AZN 20.000 – by Turkey, AZN 12.000 by Ukraine and 5.000 manats by citizens of other countries.
