Baku: Recently, interest in the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) has increased significantly, said Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, at a press conference on the results of the year, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the attention to the Organization of Turkic States depends on the international weight of its members. Trkiye is identified as the leading OTS country, and the growing influence of this country, along with Azerbaijan's increasing influence, contributes to the organization's prominence. Bayramov emphasized that Azerbaijan today is vastly different from what it was 10-15 years ago. With the consideration of Central Asia and its potential, there is a noted gradual increase in attention to the organization.
Bayramov also mentioned that new countries are showing interest in cooperating with the OTS and are applying for observer status. This interest led to the discussion of the OTS+ format at the Gabala summit. However, Bayramov acknowledged that this development has caused irritation and sensitivity in some centers of power. Despite this, the member countries are committed to preserving, developing, and expanding the positive dynamics of their cooperation across all areas.
