Foreign Minister: Trkiye Continues Efforts to End Russia-Ukraine War

Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated at a joint press conference with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov that Trkiye continues its diplomatic efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Minister Fidan emphasized that Trkiye's stance has remained consistent since the onset of the conflict. He highlighted the necessity of halting the war to prevent its escalation. Trkiye has actively engaged in initiatives such as the grain deal, the Istanbul talks, and prisoner exchanges by leveraging its contacts with both Russia and Ukraine. Efforts are ongoing, with continued communication with the involved parties and proposals concerning the situation in the Black Sea.

Fidan further noted that the conflict has transitioned from a destructive phase to one marked by devastation, with increasing attacks on civilians and infrastructure. He stressed the urgent need to cease hostilities to avert further escalation and potential catastrophes.

The minister also pointed out the growing adverse effects of the war on energy prices, food security, and the environment, while expressing concerns about the risk of the conflict spreading to other European nations.
