Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia Meet with Blinken in New York for Peace Talks


New York: A meeting between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, facilitated by U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken, took place on September 26, 2024, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly. The meeting was part of ongoing negotiations aimed at finalizing a peace agreement and establishing interstate relations between the two countries.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan agreed to intensify efforts to conclude the peace agreement as quickly as possible. Both sides expressed gratitude to Secretary Blinken for organizing the meeting. The negotiations mark the latest attempt to bring stability to the region following decades of conflict.
