Former Turkish parliamentarian of Azerbaijani descent, Yucel Artantash, has died following a prolonged illness, as confirmed by the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Born in 1952 in Ighdir, Artantash served in Turkey’s Grand National Assembly from 2002 to 2007 and played a key role in the Turkey-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group. His contributions to fostering Azerbaijani solidarity worldwide were recognized with Azerbaijan’s “Shohrat” Order, awarded by President Ilham Aliyev.
