Former Manchester City and Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony has joined NEC Nijmegen after 505 days without playing a football match, according to Marca.
In 2015 Manchester City made the Ivorian the most expensive African footballer when they signed him from Swansea for 32 million euros.
“I am happy to join NEC,” Bony told the NEC club website.
“After Ted van Leeuwen, with whom I have always maintained good contact, asked me to work in Nijmegen, I made a well-considered decision to sign for NEC,”
The 33 year-old wanted to give football another shot after a tough spell at Al-Ittihad, who he signed for in 2020.
