Baku: 'The world continues to face protracted conflicts and geopolitical tensions. At the same time, economies are under strain, and global issues-including climate change, healthcare, education, and technological progress-are becoming more intricate,' said Former President of Senegal and former Chairperson of the African Union Macky Sall at a panel discussion on 'Multilateralism in Crisis: Rethinking Global Cooperation' held as part of the 13th Baku Global Forum.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Macky Sall emphasized the need to reinforce mechanisms for preventing crises, improve the efficiency of peacekeeping operations, and increase coordination between the UN and regional bodies. He also noted that development cooperation demands innovative approaches.
He emphasized that restoring multilateralism remains a key priority. He highlighted that human interests must be prioritized in the framework of multilateral cooperation. 'Addressing inequality, empowering women, and boosting investments in youth should be key priorities on the international agenda,' the former Senegalese President added.
