Shusha: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the fourth residential complex to be built in Shusha.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the event took place on May 9, marking another significant step in the city’s ongoing development and restoration efforts.
The new residential complex is set to include 16 buildings, covering an area of 6.2 hectares. It will feature a total of 274 apartments, with sizes ranging from one to five rooms. Alongside the housing units, necessary social infrastructure will be established to support the community within the residential complex.
Following Shusha’s liberation from occupation on November 8, 2020, the city has seen extensive construction and restoration activities. The efforts aim to restore Shusha while maintaining its historical and cultural essence, enabling the return of its native residents. So far, 376 families, comprising over 1,409 former displaced persons, have been able to return to the city.
Currently, 23 buildings with a total of 450 apartments have already been handed over to residents. Looking forward, three additional projects are planned, and 10 residential complexes are being developed along the city’s central street under a public-private partnership. These projects include a hotel, office buildings, and other facilities, further contributing to the city’s development.
