Baku: On July 2, Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, laid the foundation stone for the ‘Uzbekistan’ Park in Baku, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the ‘Uzbekistan’ Park is a cultural and recreational project aimed at creating a space that showcases the history, architecture, and culture of Uzbekistan. The park will feature representations of regions such as Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, and Kokand, all laid out across its five-hectare area, designed in the shape of Uzbekistan’s map. Visitors to the park will find a museum, cinema, amphitheater, and a tower, along with restaurants and caf©s serving Uzbek national cuisine. Additionally, the park will include a commercial area, souvenir and gift shops, a zoo, and a hotel. Main structures within the park will reflect the architectural landmarks of Bukhara, Samarkand, and Khiva.

The park will be situated in Baku’s White City and symbolizes the enduring brotherhood and friendship between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. The establishment of this park is expected to further strengthen the cultural ties between the two nations.
