By the order of President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, four vice-presidents of SOCAR have been dismissed from their posts.

These included vice-president for processing Davud Mammadov, vice-president for dtrategic development Tofig Gahramanov, vice-president for geology and geophysics Bahram Huseynov and vice-president Mikail Ismailov (latter’s curation was not specified) lost their posts.

Now the number of SOCAR vice-presidents has been reduced to 8.

It should be added that no reasons of the above dismissals are specified; there is just a reference to the Article of the Constitution following which the head of state can appoint and dismiss heads of ministries, departments and state-owned companies.
