Baku: Freezing temperatures as low as -7°C in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula and an extreme -21°C in mountainous areas have been reported. The actual weather as of 10:00 AM on February 25 has been disclosed, marking a significant cold wave across the region.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the National Hydrometeorology Service announced that while cold weather conditions persist nationwide, precipitation has gradually ceased since the night hours. This has resulted in varying snow depths across different regions.

In terms of snow accumulation, Zagatala (Alibey) tops the list with a snow depth of 75 cm, followed by Gakh (Sarybash) at 50 cm, and Lerik at 58 cm. Other notable snow depths include 34 cm in Altyaghaj, 29 cm in Sheki, and 23 cm in Griz. Meanwhile, areas like Baku and parts of the Absheron Peninsula recorded 8 cm of snow.

The minimum temperatures have also been notably low. Recorded temperatures were -7°C in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, matching those in the Aran regions. The Nakhchivan AR and other mountainous regions experienced temperatures as low as -14°C, while the high mountain areas faced extreme lows of -21°C.
