Lankaran:French national Martin Ryan has been released from the Lankaran Penitentiary in Azerbaijan following a pardon order issued by President Ilham Aliyev.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the presidential pardon affected two individuals held at the facility, which is managed by the Penitentiary Service of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Justice.

Martin Ryan had been accused of conducting espionage activities on behalf of France prior to his release.
