Gabala: An Azerbaijan-Czechia business forum was held in Gabala, attended by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Andrej Babi The event marked an important step in enhancing bilateral trade and investments between the two nations.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Ilham Aliyev initiated the forum with a speech, highlighting the significance of the official visit by Prime Minister Babiand the accompanying Czech business delegation. He emphasized the mutual interest in strengthening trade ties and the importance of a stable economic and political environment for fostering investment. President Aliyev underscored Azerbaijan's stable financial situation and the country's efforts to reduce foreign debt, making it an attractive destination for investors.
The President also discussed potential areas for bilateral cooperation, including energy, defense, transport, and tourism. He noted Azerbaijan's ambition to develop its renewable energy sector and its strategic position as a transit hub in the East-West corridor. Following President Aliyev's address, Prime Minister Andrej Babi spoke about the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic. The Prime Minister introduced a delegation of 50 Czech companies, emphasizing the potential for diversification beyond oil to sectors such as defense, transport, and mining.
