Victor Osimhen, Lucas Torreira, and Gabriel Sara contributed to Galatasaray's victory with goals in the 16th, 71st, and 90th minutes, respectively. Eldor Shomurodov scored for Istanbul in the 66th minute through a penalty. Additionally, Galatasaray's Davinson S¡nchez accidentally scored an own goal in the 76th minute and later had a goal disallowed for offside.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the match was notable for Galatasaray's midfielder Alexei Batrakov, who made his first appearance in the starting lineup. The Russian played 68 minutes but did not manage to score. Batrakov made his debut for Galatasaray on August 29 in a match against G¶ztepe, where he came on as a substitute after halftime.
