Baku:The international technology summits 'Gamesummit' and 'OMNI AI Summit' recently gathered representatives from global technology companies, industry experts, and entrepreneurs in Baku. As the exclusive partner, Azercell showcased its newly launched gaming services, emphasizing its expanding digital offerings.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the summits attracted more than 4,000 visitors, featuring over 30 companies including Google, Xsolla, Microsoft/Xbox, BytePlus, and Wonderful AI. Discussions centered on the future of the gaming industry, emerging technology trends, and artificial intelligence's role in business.
Sona Abbasova, Director of Corporate Communications at Azercell, emphasized the importance of gaming services and artificial intelligence in Azercell's digital strategy. She stated that the company aims to enhance the customer experience and contribute to Azerbaijan's digital ecosystem by broadening its offerings beyond traditional telecommunications.
Nargiz Taghizade, Head of Digital Value-Added Services and Partnerships at Azercell, participated in a panel discussion with representatives from Xsolla, Burson, Recontact Games, and Meridian Play. The discussion, titled 'From Illusion to Reality Global Expansion and Sustainable Growth Strategies for Game Studios,' focused on how gaming studios can expand internationally and the role of local partners in the gaming ecosystem. Taghizade highlighted Azercell's support for game developers entering the Azerbaijani market and the importance of adapting games to local culture and user expectations.
Azercell's gaming services, introduced in 2026, include a Gaming Portal within the Azercell app and the ability to top up Steam accounts using a mobile balance, making Azercell the first mobile operator in Azerbaijan to offer such a service.
Additionally, the Starnest Academy AI Hackathon, part of the OMNI AI Summit, hosted over 500 participants across 250 teams. Participants developed AI-powered products and solutions, showcasing their skills and exploring innovative ideas.
