Algiers: The presentation ceremony of the Arabic edition of the book “The History of the Patriotic War. The Personality Factor,” a collaboration between the Baku City Executive Authority and the Institute of History, took place in Algiers, the capital of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the event was attended by Algerian officials, ambassadors and diplomats from various countries, prominent public-political, scientific, and cultural figures, as well as media representatives and Azerbaijani expatriates. The book highlights the Glorious Victory in the Patriotic War, emphasizing the leadership and personality of President Ilham Aliyev, considered a key figure in this achievement.
Speakers at the event included Tural Rzayev, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Algeria, and Nargiz Akhundova, a full member of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan and Doctor of Historical Sciences. They spoke of the book’s significance as one of the first comprehensive accounts of the war and praised President Aliyev’s strategic and leadership qualities, which were instrumental in the victory.
The book has been published in 10 languages and presented in several countries, underscoring its international relevance. During the ceremony, attendees viewed a film about Azerbaijan, the liberated territories, and ongoing reconstruction efforts. The event also featured Azerbaijani national music and concluded with a banquet.
