Gas Production in Azerbaijan Increases by Over 5% Amid Rising Demand


BAKU: Azerbaijan’s natural gas production from January to September saw a notable increase, with the country producing 25,976.33 million cubic meters, marking a 5.61 percent rise compared to the same period last year. This growth reflects the strategic efforts by Azerbaijan to boost its energy sector, a key component of its economy.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, 25,506.48 million cubic meters of this production were classified as commodity products, which also rose by 5.52 percent on an annual basis. This increase is significant as commodity products are essential for meeting both domestic and international energy demands.

The report further highlights that the total natural gas production for the year 2023 was 33,410.7 million cubic meters, representing a 6.7 percent year-on-year increase. Of this, 32,848.64 million cubic meters were designated as commodity products, showing a 6.9 percent growth compared to the previous year’s figures.
