Gas transmission from ACG to SOCAR increased by 9%

In the first half of 2024, 1.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas was transferred from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) oil and gas field block located in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea to SOCAR through the Sangachal terminal and also through the facility at Neft Dashlari (Oil rocks), which is 9% more compared to the previous year, APA-Economics reports citing bp’s report dedicated to the results of the first half of the current year on the activities of the bp company in Azerbaijan.

According to the document, during the reporting period, ACG supplied SOCAR with an average of 6.4 million cubic meters of gas per day.

“The rest of the produced gas was re-injected into the collector in order to maintain the pressure,” the report stated.

Noted that a part of the gas produced at ACG is given to SOCAR free of charge.
